This is a personal academic project developed as part of an Experimental Illustration diploma, undertaken to deepen my illustration practice and explore more experimental approaches to image-making, collage, and typography. The final project focused on developing an artistic direction for a favourite album, for which I chose Homogenic by Björk. The challenge was to translate the album's distinctive atmosphere, themes, and emotional qualities into a cohesive visual language through experimental illustration and graphic exploration. The project allowed me to experiment with collage, typography, composition, image-making, and mixed-media techniques, exploring how different visual elements could be combined to create an expressive interpretation of the music. Rather than simply illustrating the album, the work focused on developing a visual world that could communicate its mood and identity through a contemporary and experimental graphic approach.
