Fall practices to reflect and re-set

Fall is harvest season, the time to reflect on what we've learnt in the past months, time to turn inward and feel our way of experience life as it is.

It's also time to commit to new projects, new beginnings, a transition for what is coming to us next year.

Fall is about finding balance and manifesting abundance, it's the time to close cycles and embrace new projects.

Some of us like to make different kinds of rituals or practices related with the end of the season and the beginning of a new one, and this is a perfect way to stay mindful and aware of our plans and goals and to review how far we've come on our journey.

Here are 5 rituals that I invite you to try this Fall:

1. Reflect on your experience

Take some time to review all the things that happened to you in the last season, write them down, feel free to write whatever comes to your mind, reflect on what was good, what was difficult and what would you do in the future to make things better.

2. Celebrate the harvest season

Go to your farmer's market and buy the fruits and vegetables that are in season and prepare a nice meal for your family and friends, it's time to make everything pumpkin and eat apples in all kinds of pastries.

3. Connect with the earth

The weather could not be more perfect, it is time to wear your favourite sweater and a nice pair of boots, go for a walk, feel how your feet are grounded with the earth; there is a special kind of smell at this time of the year, enjoy the changing colours in nature and feel the magic in the air.

4. Read

Choose a nice story and sit down in your favourite place at home, enjoying a nice cup of tea or coffee, and get lost in words, visualize yourself inside of the story, think what would you do if you were those characters.

5. Enjoy the festivities

Fall is my favourite time of the year because of all the celebrations; we have thanksgiving and there is something truly powerful when we say thank you, when we feel grateful for what we have, is a special time to be humble and kind to ourselves and others, take this time of the year to do a random act of kindness to someone and explore how does this make you feel.

And of course, we have Halloween and The Day of the Death, time to remember and honour the people that have made a significant impact in our lives and that they are not with us anymore, they are forever in our heart and memories, take these days to celebrate their life and to remember them with a smile and little offering.
